| Distributions of farms by area operated and area irrigated are shown in the tables below. The 25th percentile shows 25 per cent of the population have an estimate less than that value. Similarly, the 75th percentile shows 25 per cent of the population have an estimate greater than that value. The remaining 50 per cent of the population lie between the values of the 25th and 75th percentiles. In some cases the average lies above the 75th percentile. This occurs because the mean is being skewed by a relatively small number of farms with a large estimate. |
