Professor Andrew Blakers is the Foundation Director of the Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems at the Australian National University. He has a physics degree from ANU and a PhD from the University of New South Wales.
He was a Humboldt Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Physics in Stuttgart and has held ARC QEII and Senior Research Fellowships. His research interests are in the areas of photovoltaics and sustainable energy systems. He designed a series of world-record efficiency solar cells, and is co-inventor of Sliver solar cell technology.
